Food manufacturing involves strict processes through which ingredients are combined and turned into snacks, meals, and other foods we eat on a daily basis. If you've ever wondered how food manufacturing works this video can help you out. How it Works Food manufacturing begins with yeast. Yeast is microscopic creatures that like to live in a refrigerator but can live in a fridge made of glass or even in a fridge made of ice. This different environment allows yeast to absorb nutrients from the air and oxygen around it, making them grow. If a yeast enters the right environment it will release a gas called carbon dioxide. This cools the yeast down and stimulates them to produce alcohol. In a process called fermentation, alcoholic yeasts create alcohol by breaking down the sugars found in the feed.
